Xotic RC Booster V2 A representative booster with a wide range of sound creation and uses [Sound demo and reviews]

Along with the EP Booster, this is a long-selling model that represents the booster genre.
Compared to the EP, it allows for more detailed sound creation with gain and EQ, and can be used for a wide range of purposes such as a buffer, clean booster, and EQ.
About Xotic | About the brand

Xotic started in a small garage in California, USA in 1996.

Based on the popular Scott Henderson model, the RC Booster has been renewed into the "RC Booster V2."
In addition to a +20dB clean boost that is faithful to the original sound and a two-band EQ of ±15dB, two gain settings can be switched with a foot switch. It can also be used as a buffer with a flatter response and richer harmonics.
It provides the player with the optimal playing environment, whether it's a complex system, sound quality correction for a pedal board, or an interface for pickups with different outputs.
- +20dB clean boost for true to the original sound
- ±15dB 2-band active EQ
- Two types of gain settings can be switched with a foot switch
- Flatter response and richer overtones allow it to be used as a buffer
- Designed to handle up to 18V for even more headroom
- With more features, the price is the same as the previous RC Booster (Ver.1)

Xotic RC Booster V2 | Review and reputation
If anyone is scared off by the price, let me give them a push.
Sound House Than
This pedal is a must.
If a pedal that creates distortion is a distortion pedal, then this is definitely the pedal that creates a clean tone.
It's rare to find such clean, high quality sound.
When combined with its sister product, the EP Booster, it's nearly unbeatable when it comes to clean tones.
While the EP, which has only gain, is expected to have the effect of improving sound projection, the RC has separate equalizer, gain, and volume, allowing you to fine-tune the sound quality.
If you raise the gain too much, the sound will distort rather than boost, so it's best not to raise it too much, but I think it's a good idea to determine the limit of this distortion (this is affected by the guitar pickups) and then determine the bass and treble from there.
The treble and bass equalizers are excellent and have no quirks, so it doesn't take long for the player to find the sound they want.
On the other hand, when combining it with a distortion effect, compatibility will vary depending on whether you place it in the front or back stage, so you need to be careful about this.
However, since this is a pedal that is most effective with clean tones, it is probably best not to bypass it or to turn it off when you want to distort the sound.
However, if you place BigMuff in the front row, its power is increased, so it is still effective.
To be honest, I don't think Gain 2 is necessary (laughs).
I had never used a clean booster before, but when combined with the natural distortion of a tube amp, I was able to use it in a similar way to Eric Clapton's mid-booster.
Sound HouseThan
With the treble and bass in the middle position the original sound will be left unchanged, but if you lower the treble just a little and raise the bass just a little you can create a sweet solo tone like Clapton's.
Adding a second stage of gain is also useful for increasing the gain when needed.
I've been using a Tube Screamer until now, but times have changed.
Maybe it's because of technology...
In addition to providing natural distortion, it also allows for a level of picking nuance that would previously have been unimaginable with a typical overdrive pedal.
Especially recommended for single coil guitars.
It gives you the flavor of a single pickup while still producing a solid humbucker-like sound.
I bought it as a buffer for the first stage.
Sound House Than
I use it with gain1 on all the time.
The sound became brighter and very clear and taut.
I didn't feel like using gain2 because of the difference in volume.
The distortion in the latter stage has been upgraded to a completely different level.
I was praised by the other band members and it made me feel like my heart had become clearer!
