Xotic BB Preamp | Review and reputation
I try out a lot of different distortion products, but in the end I never take this one off.
Sound House Than
The same settings can be used for both single and humbuckers, and the sound comes forward rather than recessed, so it won't get drowned out by other instruments.
The tone is also excellent.
I don't think the noise is particularly loud.
When comparing it with the BD-2, I thought
BD is a bass-heavy sound, while BB is a mid-heavy sound.
・The picking nuance seems to be better on the BD, but if you try hard there's no problem.
・BD has a strong coloration of sound and the string resonance is weak, but BB has a thicker sound, a better separation of sound, and a stronger string resonance.
・BD requires strict settings, but BB blends well into the ensemble no matter how you adjust it.The directionality of the sound is similar to that of a Tube Screamer.
I'm not sure if it's appropriate to say that the GAIN "sounds distorted," but it felt more like it increased compression rather than increased distortion.
I set it between 12 and 1 o'clock to give it a slightly stronger compression, making it more suitable for backing.I put this in the back stage and a TS9 mod in the front stage to boost it, and it sounds really good.

I will treasure it from now on.
It drives a rock amp nicely. It's even better when used as a booster with tubes.
Sound House Than
However, I am not satisfied with the way it responds to guitar volume controls, but it is not enough to be a problem.
It's just as everyone has said it is. Don't hesitate to buy it, you won't regret it.
