Guitar heroes and modern virtuosos such as SRV, Eric Clapton, Robben Ford, John Mayer, Santana and Cory Wong used the original Dumble Overdrive Special amps and pedals that replicated that sound.

The secret of the Warmdrive, just like the original, is the unique combination of Voice and Tone controls available on a stompbox that allow frequency modification both before (Voice control) and after clipping (Tone control), adding variety to the sound.
By turning the knobs, you can create anything from a dynamic sound like two guitar signals playing at the same time to a saturated tone that will make you immerse yourself in your playing. To achieve this, you need to actually experience the gain and saturation of Warmdrive and fully understand the "amp-like tone".

The distortion is very elegant and silky without being rough. The distortion leaves a sense of the original sound intact, and the clean texture makes it ideal for lead playing. As you turn up the GAIN, the unique saturation increases, and you can experience the sensation of an amp ringing out.
By increasing the Voice, which allows you to vary the mid-high frequency range before clipping, the sound becomes more three-dimensional and its presence increases. You can create a drive sound that won't get lost in an ensemble.
When used as a booster to drive the headroom of a guitar amp, the effect's elegant distortion and boxy sound were very pleasant.
This is a great pedal for playing genres that involve a lot of lead playing, such as rock, blues, jazz, and fusion.
