About Wampler | About the brand
Wampler Pedals is a pedal workshop located in Martinsville, Indiana, USA. Since its founding in 2004, the company has been providing musicians with effect pedals that are not influenced by modern trends, based on the belief that "we make what guitarists really want."
Founder and guitarist Brian Wampler was unable to achieve the sound he was looking for with commercially available pedals, and so he started "Wampler". Wampler has repeatedly experimented and researched to output excellent sound with any amp or setting, and has earned high praise from guitarists around the world for its uncompromising materials and technology.

Tumnus Deluxe is based on the legendary overdrive. It has the clarity, punch and separation of the original Tumnus, but with more control and versatility. The buffer can be turned on and off with a switch on the side of the case. Tumnus Deluxe is another clone pedal with a wide range of controls.

Wampler Pedals Tumnus Deluxe | Review
This is a deliberately light distortion that has the qualities of a distortion but focuses on harmonic clarity. It's thick but also transparent. I had to tune mine carefully and the effect is very different with single coils and humbuckers. It's a personal preference, but I think it sounds best with single coils. However, it can produce a nice sound with any guitar. This effect is the best clone in the Zone.

I bought this as a Klon clone and it works great to leave it on all the time and bring up your tone. You can also tweak it more aggressively and drive it to get a sweet to aggressive or even howling overdrive sound. It does exactly what it claims to do. The knobs on offer allow for a wide range of tweakability and after a bit of experimenting I found the perfect setting for the Tumnus pedal. Wampler makes some great pedals.
