About Wampler | About the brand

Wampler Pedals is a pedal workshop located in Martinsville, Indiana, USA. Since its founding in 2004, the company has been providing musicians with effect pedals that are not influenced by modern trends, based on the belief that "we make what guitarists really want."
Founder and guitarist Brian Wampler was unable to achieve the sound he was looking for with commercially available pedals, and so he started "Wampler". Wampler has repeatedly experimented and researched to output excellent sound with any amp or setting, and has earned high praise from guitarists around the world for its uncompromising materials and technology.

Wampler EGO compressors have always been an essential part of Cory Wong's signature sound, providing the light touch necessary to subtly bring out his tone. So having an XLR output was a natural starting point for designing his signature pedal. This would allow him to connect directly to a computer interface, mixing desk or PA for a bright, clean tone. He also wanted to add a boost that could be selected for both a flat volume boost or a rich, saturated boost. All functions could be operated with two footswitches and housed in a compact pedal enclosure with an always-on mode suitable for stage use.

- Boost and flexible compressor circuitry inspired by Eric Clapton's favorite unit
- Two switchable modes (compression and boost) in a single enclosure
- Boost mode switch for either full frequency or rich saturated mid boost
- XLR output and ground lift switch for direct connection to PA, mixer or audio interface
- Attack, Tone, Sustain, Volume and Blend controls for the Compressor
- Separate boost level control
- Unique "Comp On" switch to permanently turn on compressor
- High-quality components selected for superior acoustics and response
- Top mounted input/output jacks and power connector
The Wampler Cory Wong Compressor features two soft footswitches with three-color LED indicators to operate each function. On the compressor side, full control is available for Volume, Sustain, Attack, and Blend, as well as Brian Wampler's signature Tone control, allowing you to add sparkle and chime to your guitar's tone. On the boost side, a single rotary boost control adjusts the amount of boost, while a profile switch sets the mode of the boost circuit, allowing you to add more vibrancy or a flat boost to the 2Hz frequency band. Combining both channels allows for great compression and a powerful lead boost.
