monica is Virtues' flagship model, a rare overdrive that can match any guitar/amp.
Although the circuit details and the base design are very classical, the JFET input op-amp maintains a modern level of expressiveness and range. Furthermore, after searching for the ideal clipping element, which is the core of saturation, we decided to use a bipolar transistor, which is rarely used as a diode element in pedals, rather than a Si diode, Ge diode, or FET.
By using this element as clipping, it is possible to obtain creamy saturation without sacrificing response to touch. In combination with the JFET input op-amp mentioned above, it has a slightly hysterical, clear mid-range that does not get lost in the ensemble.
In addition, there is a Low Boost control on the top side of the case. This control is after the gain stage on the circuit, so you can adjust it to match your guitar amp without changing the center of gravity or thickness of the distortion. The monica has a natural saturation that doesn't break down, while showing a variety of expressions depending on the picking, volume control, and guitar used, and can be used in any situation, whether as a main overdrive, other pedals, or as a push for an amp.
The LED indicator is designed to change color depending on the remaining battery power, making it easy to use for users who want to use distortion pedals with batteries.
