The THR was released in 2011 as a new concept guitar amp that provides a comfortable playing environment in a variety of situations off-stage. It has been loved by guitarists around the world, from amateurs to professionals, and was brushed up into its second generation in 2019 with the addition of new functions.
This time, we have teamed up with Takahiro Matsumoto, one of Japan's world-renowned guitarists, to produce an original THR-II that is equipped with new tones, including amp sounds supervised by Matsumoto, as well as effects that have been added exclusively to this model.
Matsumoto, the tech team, and the Yamaha development team made repeated fine adjustments to the lead, drive, clean, and crunch tones to create a sound that meets the high-level demands of Matsumoto, a top professional. This desktop amp is now complete, with a top-class guitar sound that will please many guitarists, even if they're not fans.

The clean, crunch and lead sections of PRESENT and PAST each feature sounds that perfectly reproduce Matsumoto's tone.

It comes with over 30 special presets of Matsumoto's distinctive guitar sounds that can only be used with this model.
- Choose from 15 guitar amp models, including five tones supervised by Matsumoto for this model, as well as sounds that have been fine-tuned by Matsumoto's tech team and Yamaha, three bass amp models, three acoustic guitar sounds, and a flat voicing.
- In addition to the half-stop wah pedal sound that is essential to TAK TONE, it also comes equipped with effects such as chorus, phaser, and delay that Matsumoto uses.
- By connecting to the dedicated app "THR Remote" for iOS/Android/Win/macOS, you can make detailed sound settings and call up preset tones.
- Bluetooth® connectivity allows wireless audio playback and external control via apps from smartphones and tablets
- Wireless guitar playing is possible with the optional Line 6® Relay® G10T (G10TII) transmitter.
- Equipped with a built-in rechargeable battery, it can be carried around freely and played.
