The DITTO 2 LOOPER is a looper pedal with an ultra-compact size that fits easily into the gaps of your pedalboard. Although it has the same compact body as the original Ditto Looper (released in 2013), the internal memory supports up to 10 minutes of recording (about twice as long as the previous model), and audio is recorded in high quality at 2-bit/32kHz.
The input and output are mono (one standard jack each), and although it does not support stereo, this compromise allows for both simplicity and sound quality. In addition, the power supply is only powered by a 1V adapter and does not support batteries, but it consumes only about 9mA of power, making it energy-efficient.
DITTO 2 LOOPER | Features and Functions
Refined one-button operation & newly designed foot switch
The biggest feature of the DITTO 2 LOOPER is the refinement of intuitive loop recording with simple one-button operation. While retaining the ease of recording, playback, and overdubbing with a single foot switch, the newly designed large foot switch now uses a magnetic mechanism.
The feel of the switch is not a hard "click," but rather a smooth, distinctive "click" that operates with a certain amount of force, allowing you to reliably turn it on and off at the timing you want even while playing. The design allows for precise control whether you're wearing shoes or barefoot, giving you peace of mind knowing you can use the loops the way you want, even on a live stage.
LED display with excellent visibility
Don't miss the vivid LED display on the top of the unit. It lights up in green, red, or other colors depending on the loop recording/playback status, so you can see the current loop status at a glance. The brightness and diffusion of the backlight have been carefully designed, making it dazzlingly easy to see even on a dark live house stage or under the lights at home. The color of the backlight lets you intuitively tell when the unit is recording, playing, or overdubbing, so you'll never have to panic and wonder, "What mode am I in?" Just by glancing at the pedal at your feet, you can see the status even while playing, which will greatly reduce the stress of loop operation.
LoopSnap timing correction
DITTO 2 LOOPER is equipped with a new smart function called LoopSnap. This is an intelligent timing adjustment function that automatically corrects subtle misalignments in recorded loop phrases, making the "loop joint misalignment" that is common not only for beginners but also for intermediate players less noticeable. For example, even if you press the foot switch slightly too early or too late at the end of a phrase, LoopSnap intelligently analyzes the beat and musically adjusts the start and end points of the loop. This relieves you of the pressure to record with perfect timing from the start, allowing you to relax and layer phrases. The number of mistakes such as "loops being cut off and unnatural..." will also decrease dramatically.
SingleTap function (single tap looping)
Conventional loopers required double taps (two quick taps) or long presses to perform multiple operations such as record → play → overdub → stop. With the new SingleTap function in DITTO 2, you can select a mode in which you can record, play, and stop sequentially with one foot switch operation each. For example, in SingleTap mode, the first tap starts recording, the next tap starts playback immediately after recording ends, and another tap stops playback (loop clear), completing a series of operations with a single tap. This reduces mistakes and misses, making loop operation much smoother. Even guitarists who are not good at quick double taps can concentrate on loop playing with confidence, and will significantly reduce mistakes even during live performances.
Classic and User Mode
The unit can be switched between the conventional** "Ditto Classic" mode and the "User Custom" mode with the aforementioned new functions enabled, using the mode switch on the side or the smartphone app. In Classic mode, it behaves like the original Ditto (LoopSnap disabled, normal two-tap operation), while in User mode, the LoopSnap and SingleTap functions are enabled. Another attractive feature is the flexibility of being able to choose between two loop operation systems** depending on the playing situation and your preferences. The mode switch is a small toggle switch on the side of the unit, which is a little difficult to access when installed on a pedal board, but since it is not something you will be switching between frequently, this should not be a big problem.
Bluetooth app integration & USB connection
The DITTO 2 LOOPER supports Bluetooth connection to smartphones as standard, and various settings can be edited using the free dedicated app. For example, you can turn SingleTap operation on/off in the aforementioned User mode, enable or disable the LoopSnap function, and switch between bypass methods (true or buffered) all on your smartphone, which is very convenient.
It can also be connected to a PC/Mac or smartphone via a USB-C port, and firmware updates are also supported. At present, the functions that can be controlled from the app are limited, but it has been suggested that "new functions may be added in future updates," so we can look forward to future expansion. In any case, the fact that it is wireless compatible means that you can change settings without having to touch the knobs or switches on the pedal itself, which is a modern and practical feature.
Audio Quality and Bypass Selection
Although it is a simple looper, there is no compromise on sound quality. Recording is done in uncompressed 24-bit equivalent high quality, achieving a quality that does not deteriorate even when recording multiple times. In fact, some users have praised the sound quality, saying that "the loop sound is almost the same as the original sound." In addition, this unit is designed to be switchable between true bypass and buffered bypass. It is a nice consideration to be able to choose according to preference, whether you want to prevent the sound from becoming thin across the entire effects board with buffered, or to send the original sound without changing it at all with true. One user said that "the sound became slightly clearer with buffer on," and in some cases it seems to have a positive effect on sound quality. It is truly TC Electronic's achievement to have such flexible functions in such a small pedal.

DITTO 2 LOOPER | Review and reputation
Good reputation (positive reviews)
- "It's easy to get the timing right and intuitive. I've tried a few other loopers, but this one has the perfect timing for loops, making it perfect for practicing."
- "I've had trouble creating loops with other pedals, but with the Ditto 2 I can do it the way I want."
- "The loop playback sound is almost the same as the original sound."
- "Good response and no stress"
- "The response is so fast, I can trust it even when using it live."
- "SingleTap recording is extremely useful for listening back to the phrase I'm playing objectively. It makes me look forward to practicing from now on."
Bad reviews (negative reviews)
- "You can't save multiple loops or import audio from your PC like you can with the Ditto+."
- "Since it's Bluetooth compatible, I'd like to be able to save and manage loops recorded via my smartphone as WAV files."
- "At the moment, all you can do with the dedicated app is change modes, turn LoopSnap on/off, and set bypass, which isn't as much as I thought it would be. It's not going to be dramatically more functional."
- "It only has one foot switch, so it's not suitable for complex loops."
Summary | DITTO 2 LOOPER
- Those who want to improve their loop practice with simple operations
DITTO 2 LOOPER is perfect for guitarists who want to practice looping simply and effectively, just by recording and layering. For example, when practicing scales or improvisation solos, if you want to play a loop of your own while playing back the chord progression, this unit is a great ally that allows you to concentrate on playing without being bothered by complicated operations. In particular, the SingleTap mode allows you to switch from recording to playback with one action, so you can continue playing without interruption from the beginning of the phrase. This will be a great improvement for intermediate players who have been in the dilemma of "not being able to concentrate on practicing because it is too difficult to operate the looper." Furthermore, the LoopSnap function automatically corrects the misalignment of the loop joints, so even those who are not confident in their sense of rhythm can continue loop practice with peace of mind. - People who want to use it widely from home to the stage
Although it does not have the function to save phrases in the built-in memory, it is perfect for those who want to layer phrases played on the spot and use them for idea sketches and improvisation practice. With a recording time of 10 minutes, you can record long chord progressions and solos in one take. This unit is also recommended for intermediate players who want to use a looper not only for practicing at home but also in front of people someday. Because it is simple, there are few problems at live performances and it is highly reliable, and the operation system at the foot is minimal, making it easy to concentrate on playing, which is a great advantage on stage. In fact, one user has commented that this unit is for people who want a simple and small looper for practice or small performances. Although it cannot prepare elaborate loop materials like DTM or perform complex synchronously, it is possible to create a live-like dynamism in live performances by focusing on one-take recording loops of live performances. Although it is a simple piece of equipment, it will be useful from home to the stage depending on your ideas. - For original Ditto Looper users and beginners
For those who are already using the original Ditto or other companies' simple loopers, the DITTO 2 LOOPER is an attractive upgrade. The operation feel is almost the same, but the pedal comfort and visibility have been improved, so even if you switch, you will quickly get used to it and any minor complaints will be resolved. For example, those who were not good at double tapping in the old Ditto will be stress-free with the SingleTap function, and those who found the LEDs small and difficult to see will feel reassured with the large LED display. Also, for guitarists who are trying out loopers for the first time, the DITTO 2 is an option that combines ease of use with all the necessary functions. Unlike other multi-function loopers, it does not have loop memory switching or rhythm machine functions, but its simplicity is directly linked to ease of use. It is a good idea to first get used to looping with the Ditto 2, and then move on to a higher-level model if you find it lacking (on the other hand, it may be a little disappointing for advanced users who already want advanced loop operations and track storage). In any case, the DITTO 2 LOOPER is recommended for anyone who wants a looper that is simple but hits the spot.
DITTO 2 LOOPER inherits the spirit of the original Ditto Looper, but with some fine-tuning, it is a reliable tool that will contribute to a wide range of situations, from the practice environment of intermediate guitarists to live performances. By adding smart functions such as LoopSnap and SingleTap to simple one-button operation, we have achieved the ideal usability of "easy but effective looping". When you actually use it, you will be amazed by its intuitive operability and high sound quality, which will definitely help you practice. Even from a professional perspective, the design is focused on the bare minimum, reducing the risk of breakdowns and operational errors, making it perfect for use in live performances.
Of course, it may not be enough if you want multi-track loops or a large number of phrases. However, leaving those to higher-end models (such as the company's Ditto+ or Boss's RC series), the value of the DITTO 2 LOOPER, which pursues the original pleasure of a looper, "recording in one take in real time and enjoying loops," is very high. It is affordable and easy to obtain, and can be recommended as a "buy" for a wide range of people, from intermediate players who want to improve the quality of their home practice to professionals who pursue simple loop performance. Please try out the DITTO 2 LOOPER, which has evolved from the standard looper with innovative additions. It is sure to bring new creativity and fun to your guitar life.
