I've been using the Suhr Woodshed comp ever since I bought it. Once you start using a compressor, you really can't let it go. It's especially essential for me, who creates clean sounds with the volume control at hand. Just by slightly squashing it, the range of sounds that are audibly clean is expanded, and the sound cuts through properly without floating around.
