The Koko Boost Reloaded is a state-of-the-art booster that adds advanced functionality to the original Koko Boost in a downsized body. John Suhr's insight and engineering sense, which he has always had in dialogue with top musicians, shines through in this design.

Multi-function technology allows you to switch between two modes and bypass the effect with a single switch.

A 3-position frequency switch optimizes the peak of the boosted frequency band. The boost level is increased by 6 dB to achieve richer harmonics and sustain. The addition of functions such as the MidQ control, which controls the bandwidth of the boosted frequency and adjusts the subtle nuances of the tone, dramatically increases the potential and expandability of your pedalboard system.

I think this is a great booster that can be used for both gain boost and clean boost.
It's fun to try different combinations with different amps and distortion pedals.

Sound House Than

I bought it together with the ep booster, so I'll compare them. I mainly use it between my guitar and amp, so I'll write about the feel of using it in that case. The amp I'm using is a Marshall DSL 5C.

The clean booster has a slightly more prominent high end, but overall it has no particular quirks and the entire range is boosted in a balanced way. Compared to the ep booster, it seems to have a lot more distortion. In this respect, I personally find the ep booster easier to use. Also, the volume gets quite loud when you turn the knob.

The mid booster feels really good when in high mid mode, and the vibrato and choking feel very smooth and clear. It's great for solos. I haven't gotten around to using the mid and low mid modes yet. Turning the knob on this one seemed to increase the distortion rather than the volume.

The compact size is good, but I would have preferred it if it had less distortion. Rather than boosting the original sound naturally, I get the impression that it is boosted with the refined sound quality that is unique to Suhr (although I'm not that familiar with Suhr). Compared to the EP Booster, it has a slightly more bassy sound overall.

When connected to the send/return, the distortion character of the amp becomes stronger, and even if you turn the knob, the volume doesn't get very loud. When connected in front of the amp, the character of the kokoboost is emphasized. Personally, I think this booster is for enjoying its unique and elegant flavor, so I think I'll be happier if I connect it in front of the amp rather than the send/return and try out various things. I really like the smooth high-mid sound of this mid booster. If the amount of distortion had remained the same, I would have given it 5 stars.

If you just want to boost the original sound a little, I definitely recommend the ep booster. If you have the money, you should just buy both.
