More Deatils
More preloaded inspiration
BigSky MX comes preloaded with 22 impulse responses made up of different kinds of captures. The collection contains some great impulses of different natural spaces, but we also wanted to provide some IRs that are specific to MX. We did that by spending days in the studio capturing from classic analog studio equipment and some units owned and restored by one of our analog engineers. The result is a bunch of very inspirational sounds, ranging from real analog plates and unobtainable mainframe reverb units to forgotten and mysterious spring reverb tanks and tape echoes. So there is a wealth of creativity in the impulse bank.
Ready to play
Our most powerful pedal to date is also the most flexible pedal on stage, combining intuitive operation with features that professional musicians approve. The bright OLED screen is easy to read even in the toughest conditions, and navigation is user-friendly and clear. Create and play lush pads with the dedicated Infinite/Freeze footswitch, and dual patching even gives you individual control of each reverb right at your foot. Full MIDI control over all relevant parameters, plus extensive I/O, make the BigSky MX easy to pair with any rig.
Stereo Panning
For the most flexible audio routing possible, we've added pan controls to the output of each reverb engine. Now you can hear the repeats even more clearly in a dual scenario by panning Magneto further to the right, or leave more space in the center of the stereo field by panning both machines further left or right. Used creatively, it's a powerful control.
Realistic space, natural fluctuations
The new MX reverb algorithm features multi-modulation that varies the delay of each individual reflection. As a result, when you turn up the Mod knob, you get a natural shimmering sensation that resembles air movement in a room, rather than an obvious modulation effect. And even with zero modulation, the reverb tail is smooth and musical, and terminates beautifully even at the longest decay times.
Nixie 2 Software
The Nixie 2 software librarian is an integral part of the BigSky MX experience, managing patch uploads and downloads, real-time parameter control from your desktop, and even impulse response loading. At launch it will have limited functionality, but will be fully compatible with all BigSky MX features in the coming months.
