A MAGNUM OPUS OF TONE
The MARK VII(TM) is the magnum opus of Randall Smith's 50+ year career of innovative amplifier development. It inherits Randall's knowledge, Mesa Boogie's history and innovation, and the tradition of the best operability, and condenses the essence into the simplest, most versatile, and smallest Mark series 90-watt amplifier. The 3-channel, 9-mode preamp is combined with the Simul-Class power section to provide three different sound characters for each of the three different wattages. This model is a new iconic status in the Mark series in terms of versatility that appeals to discerning guitarists, soulful vacuum tube tone, and magical feeling. The long-awaited release of the Simul Seven has surpassed the previous Mark Five and the secretly developed Mark Six prototype to become the most powerful Boogie Mark model ever in terms of the best tone, adaptability to any genre, compact design, and a comprehensive interface for recording and live performances. This all-purpose tone machine delivers the legendary Mark series sound, plus two new sounds: the nostalgic Mark IIB tone of yesteryear and a new modern high-gain mode with a sound character and strong intentions worthy of the Mark VII name. In addition to the iconic specifications of previous Boogie amps, such as onboard graphic EQ, lush reverb, seamless effects loop, and innovative power switching, the Mark VII also features a built-in CabClone IR DI Direct Interface. With the same specifications and great sounding IR as the external CabClone IR, the built-in version allows you to configure the sound by individually assigning eight Rectifier(R) and Boogie cabinets per channel, aiming for a realistic direct sound. The Mark VII marks the beginning of the next chapter in the Boogie amp line. It provides guitarists with a more compact and comprehensive condensed analog all-tube sound, soul, and feeling that even discerning players will appreciate. Taking the iconic Mark Series to new heights, the Mark VII brings beloved classics to modern times, and takes them into the realm of modern high gain, all while developing an interface that works in any environment. The Mark VII offers inspiration and freedom to guitarists in any musical style. The Mark VII will be available in three versions: 3x2 combo, head, and rackmount head.

"We've been working on the evolution of the Mark Series for several years now. In fact, development of the amps began before Mesa/Boogie joined the Gibson family. At one point during the development process, Randy Smith, James Uscho, Doug West, Tommy Waugh, Steve Mueller and I got together and decided that the finished Mark was a game changer for Mesa/Boogie, far surpassing our Mark VI prototype and representing a major leap forward for Mesa/Boogie both in terms of function and design."
Official comment from Gibson CEO Cesar Guikian:
"The Mark VII has been a long-cherished dream of ours since long before I joined Gibson, and has been discussed for many years. The development of this amplifier, which was called the Mark VI at the time, has been one of our intensive research and development projects since 2016. As a result of research, I completed the original new sound circuit board in 2018, and made many improvements from then until the preparation for release began in the second half of 2022. In the middle of that research and development, we succeeded in developing a Mark amplifier worthy of jumping over a generation number. Therefore, we decided that it would be appropriate to jump over the prototype Mark VI that we had been familiar with for many years and rename it the Mark VII.
The Mark VII is the best amp I've ever worked on in terms of design and features. The Mesa design team is great at this, not only taking the best parts of the entire history of the Boogie, but doing it with a purer signal path and two fewer preamp tubes than the previous Mark V. Players who tried the Mark VII during the development period were amazed at the tone and commented, "I can't believe an amp that can do all this can sound so pure and realistic in all modes." The key is optimizing the signal path, and I think it's the knowledge and tips I've accumulated over the past 1 years, but my colleagues like Doug West, Steve Mueller, and Jim Aschow who have been with me for 2 years were never satisfied. Also, Cesar Guikian at Gibson had an unwavering belief in us and the completion of the Mark VII, and provided the utmost support. I'm almost 55 years old, but I still love my job, pursue it every day, and intend to do what I'm doing for as long as I can. But after VII, I'm taking a break and enjoying some easier projects."
