The Helix Stadium series is a new generation of guitar amp and effect modeling processors announced by Line 6 on June 2025, 6. This is the first major update in about 11 years since the release of the original Helix Floor, and all elements of hardware, connectivity, and sound quality have been fundamentally improved.

Eric Klein, Chief Developer at Line 6, said:"This new platform is not just about adding new features, it represents the biggest leap in modeling technology in the last 30 years." And as he states, the Helix Stadium series is truly superior to previous models.

Line 6 / Helix Stadium Series | Features and Functions [Common]

Newly developed "Agoura™" modeling technology

It uses a completely new amp modeling method that analyzes the behavior of vacuum tube amps in great detail, providing realistic sound and dynamics that far exceed those of conventional HX modeling.

Line 6 measures and models detailed data from actual tube amplifiers, including plate voltage, current, sag, and bias behavior, and even goes so far as to reproduce the changes in speaker impedance.

As a result,"The biggest evolution in 30 years of amp modeling"They say that this produces a sound that they can be proud of.

Equipped with "Hype" control

Helix Stadium's unique "Hype" control lets you adjust the amp soundContinuously variable from "ultra-realistic" to "idealized sound"You can blend between 1 and 2 tones at the touch of a button. With just one knob you can switch between vintage-like rawness and modern tones, so you can intuitively create the ideal sound you have in mind.

Profiling function (Proxy Cloning engine)

Equipped with a cloud-based amp/cab/effects cloning engine.

This is equivalent to Kemper's profiling and Neural DSP's capture function, and it appears that you'll be able to import and reproduce the tones of your own amps and pedals on Helix.

More details are expected to be revealed in the future, but it may be possible for users to share tones with each other via the cloud, a truly next-generation feature.

Compatible with existing Helix

One great feature that existing users who have spent time creating sounds will be able to import presets from previous Helix/HX products as is.

Officially, if you load the sound data created with an old Helix into Helix Stadium, it will work without changing the sound quality. This means that the switch is smooth and you can take advantage of the new model while still using your favorite sounds.

Large touch display and intuitive UI

The unit is equipped with a high-resolution 8-inch touch screen. Visibility and operability have been dramatically improved from previous models (approximately 6-inch non-touch screens). In addition to being able to directly operate the menus and edit effect chains with drag and drop, the display is easy to see and allows for quick control even during a live performance.

In addition, the XL model is equipped with 12 OLED screens (scribe strips) above each footswitch, allowing you to clearly see effect names and parameters at your feet.

The entire UI is extremely sophisticated, and the developers are proud to say it is "the most ergonomic, intuitive and inspirational interface."

Overwhelming connectivity and expandability

The Helix Stadium series also has a wide range of input and output terminals. As described below, this varies slightly depending on the model, but they are equipped with guitar input (variable impedance), microphone input (equipped with high-quality microphone preamplifiers), multiple effect loops, MIDI IN/OUT, stereo XLR output/line output, headphone output, S/PDIF digital input/output, USB-C/A terminal, and even an audio interface function with up to 8 in and 8 out.

It is versatile enough to be used not only as guitar equipment but also for recording and distribution by connecting it to USB. In addition, the "Nexus" port on the side of the main unit allows you to connect the **expansion unit "Expand D10". This allows you to add special inputs and outputs such as Line 6's unique VDI (Variax digital input), AES/EBU, L6 LINK terminal, and 8-channel optical digital output, making it a flexible design that can be expanded as needed.

Bluetooth® and Wi-Fi compatible

Equipped with wireless communication capabilities that are rare in the industry, it will be possible to wirelessly operate and edit Helix Stadium from a smartphone or tablet app, and Line 6 says that remote control via a mobile app will also be possible in the future.

Wi-Fi is also used for cloud functions (sharing tones and updating firmware) and for data synchronization with the Showcase function described below. Being able to change settings on stage without having to worry about cables is a big advantage.

Automatic performance and synchronization with the new "Showcase™" feature

Helix Stadium is equipped with an automation playback engine called Showcase. Simply put, this is a system that allows you to play backing tracks and clicks on the main unit, turn effects on and off, and automatically control external devices according to the progression of the song.

For example, you can play the sound sources for each song prepared in advance for a live performance from the Helix unit, and switch effects and operate MIDI devices in sync with them. Previously, the set list function of multi-effectors was simple, but Helix Stadium is so powerful that it can control the stage rig of the entire band, and some people expect that this will make the dream of being able to control a live performance with one button a reality. Even when practicing at home, you can load and play phrases (stem sound sources) recorded for each part of a song, so it has already been praised as a groundbreaking tool that allows you to break down your favorite songs into parts and learn them.

Line 6 / Helix Stadium XL Floor | Features and appeal of the flagship "XL"

Main hardware specifications

There are a total of 12 foot switches, and a highly visible OLED screen (scribe strip) is located above each switch. This allows you to see at a glance which effect or function is assigned when you switch between them, making it easy to use even during live performances. In addition, a high-precision expression pedal (with toe switch) is built into the right side of the unit, allowing you to control wah or volume with your foot, or switch to a different function by turning the toe switch on and off. The pedal's feel and accuracy have also been improved over previous models.

Impressive input/output terminals

The Helix Stadium XL Floor is equipped with an incredible variety of terminals on its back. There are two guitar inputs, with variable impedance to optimize the characteristics of the pickup. There is also a microphone input (XLR, +2V phantom compatible) and an ultra-low noise microphone preamp of 48dB.

There are four mono effect loops (which can also be used as two stereo loops), and you can connect up to four of your favorite effectors or amplifier effect loops (such as the four-cable method). External controls are also abundant, with four external expression pedal terminals, four latch outputs for switching channels on an external amplifier, and even four trigger inputs for electronic drums.

Of course, it also has MIDI IN/OUT terminals. The output is equipped with two stereo XLR balanced outputs and two 1/4 inch line outputs, and can be set to output simultaneously to a PA and an amplifier. It also has a headphone output. And when connected to a PC/Mac via the USB-C terminal, it functions as an 2-in/8-out multi-channel audio interface, making it useful for recording and playback in a DAW.

It also has a USB-A terminal, so it can be used with USB memory or wireless receivers. It also has a 32GB microSD card slot, so you can easily save and load files such as IR data and backtracks. The power supply is built-in (IEC cable), so you don't need to carry a separate adapter.

The Helix Stadium XL Floor is the top model of the Helix Stadium series."Line 6's most comprehensive and integrated guitar processor ever"It is a flagship model touted as "the ultimate in expandability." It is packed with as many controls and terminals as possible into a large body, and as its name suggests, it has "XL" expandability and power.

As you can see from these specs, the XL Floor is truly worthy of being called a "guitarist's workstation." For example, you can connect two guitars in stereo at the same time and play different amp models, use the multiple loop terminals to freely arrange external effects, or connect the band's drummer's electronic drums and trigger sounds on the Helix side. In fact, one media outlet was amazed and commented, "Looking at these terminals, it could become the mothership of the entire band." As befits a top-of-the-line model, the XL Floor's appeal is its versatility, which allows it to handle any modern guitar/acoustic situation.

Helix Stadium Floor | Compact but uncompromising "Floor" model

This is different from XL
  • No built-in pedals
The unit does not have an expression pedal, but you can add your preferred pedals via the two external terminals.
  • Simplify the number of foot switches
While the XL has 12 units, the Floor is expected to have around 8 units, although this has not been disclosed, and the OLED script has also been simplified.
  • "Half specifications" of input/output terminals
    Guitar input: 2 → 1 system
    Effects Loop: 4 → 2 mono (1 stereo)
    External EXP: 4 → 2, Amp Latch: 4 → 2, Drum Trigger: 4 → 2
  • Significantly reduced size and weight
By eliminating the pedals and reducing the number of terminals, it is slimmer and lighter than the previous Helix LT (exact figures have not been disclosed).
  • The price is also reasonable
US retail price $2,199 (XL) → $1,799 (Floor)This is equivalent to approximately 25 yen in Japanese yen.
  • DSP/sound quality/touch UI are the same as XL
The core features are the same: new Agoura™ modeling, 8" touchscreen, Showcase™, Bluetooth/Wi-Fi.
  • Flexible for retrofit expansion
If necessary, you can expand the functionality to XL equivalent with the EX2 pedal ($149.99) or Expand D10 I/O module ($219.99).

The Helix Stadium Floor is a lower-end model that is slimmer and more affordable by removing some of the features from the XL. However, the DSP power and sound engine inside are the same as the XL, so there is no difference in sound quality or basic functions. Therefore, it is positioned as a "more compact and expandable Helix," and Line 6 also describes it as "the most streamlined and expandable product among the current Line 6 processors" (from the official Japanese website).

Differences from the previous Helix (Helix Floor / LT / HX) | Check out the improved points

Evolution of Sound and Modeling

The biggest topic is the dramatic improvement in sound quality achieved by the new modeling technology "Agoura™." The old Helix sound was of high quality when it was released in 2015, but since then other companies such as Fractal and Neural DSP have developed more realistic modeling technology, and the gap has widened.

Helix Stadium precisely models even the circuit feedback and capacitance between the wires, and attempts to reproduce the "behavior itself" of a vacuum tube amplifier. Line 6 itself says that it "pursued the true perfection of tube amp emulation," and the realism of the sound and the feel of playing (dynamic response) should be significantly improved from the previous Helix.

The freedom of sound creation has also been greatly improved, with the Hype control allowing you to tune to your liking, and the profiling function allowing you to import your own amp. In addition, the dynamic range of the analog input/output circuit has been improved, with the guitar input exceeding 126dB and the microphone input at 128dB, providing extremely low noise and high headroom.

According to MusicRadar, "The dynamic range of all analog inputs has been boosted and even the headphone output has been improved," showing that every detail has been thoroughly polished.

Number of amp/effect models

The number of newly included amp models announced so far is said to be 16 (including classics such as the Twin Reverb and JCM800). Looking at the number alone, it seems fewer than the number included in the old Helix (more than 60 amps, more than 100 effects), but this means that 16 models have been created from scratch using the new Agoura method.

Of course, more will be added in future updates, and all old Helix models should be included for preset compatibility. In fact, being able to load old Helix presets means that the old amps and effects can also be used, so being able to use both old and new tone assets is a strong point. In other words, you'll have a huge range of sound creation options right from the release.

Evolution of operability and interface

The intuitive UI has been highly praised since the Helix Floor days, but Helix Stadium offers even more refined operability. The large 8-inch touch display was not available on previous models, and allows you to drag and place blocks and intuitively edit parameters. The physical knobs and foot switches have also been enhanced (the number of parameter knobs has increased from six on the previous Helix, and the number of foot switches has also increased significantly compared to the LT), making it possible to "see, touch, and step" without stress.

In particular, the XL has dramatically improved visibility with an OLED display for each switch, making it easier to create a set list for live performances. In addition, modern usability has been pursued, such as smartphone/tablet compatibility and a preset preview function that does not require a PC (previewing presets with sound). In situations where editor software or PC connection was required with the old Helix, it seems that with Helix Stadium, it will be possible to complete everything with just the main unit.

Extensible and Live Ready

The Showcase function of Helix Stadium is a new innovation even for other companies, and it plays the role of a multi-effector + α. In the old Helix, it was possible to automate it to a certain extent with the snapshot function and MIDI transmission, but in Helix Stadium, sequence playback and automatic control are fully incorporated. This is a major advantage in that it makes it easy to control the total performance of live performances, such as click synchronization, lighting control, and effect switching for complex song development.

In addition, the audio interface function of the previous model, Helix Floor, supported 8 in 8 out, but in addition to that, Stadium is equipped with flexible monitor mix functions using a matrix mixer (listed as Matrix Cue mixer). In short, it has evolved to a level where it can be used as the central equipment of a band. It has the expandability to meet the needs of the times, including firmware updates and editing via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, and future cloud collaboration.

Changes in size and design

The Helix Floor was sturdy but large and heavy (about 6.6 kg). The Helix Stadium uses extruded aluminum and steel for the chassis, maintaining its strength while being designed to be one size smaller. The Floor model, which does not include pedals, is expected to be more compact than the previous Helix LT, making it easier to transport and set up.

The design is also sophisticated, with a large display on the top and a clean layout that gives it a futuristic look. Many users feel that it looks great on stage, and we can hear many people looking forward to the day they can incorporate the new Helix into their boards.

With 8-in/8-out audio I/F functionality and high-quality inputs and outputs, it is also ideal for recording. Not only has the quality of direct recording from the amp been further improved, but the Proxy clone function allows you to import your favorite real amp sound and reproduce it in your DAW. As with the old Helix, it is expected to work with Helix Native (plug-in version), allowing for an integrated workflow in the studio.
  • Existing Helix/HX users
For users who have been using Helix for many years, the preset compatibility is a great relief. You can transfer your existing sounds as they are, while also enjoying the upgraded sound creation with the new engine. The operation system is familiar to everyone, inherited from Helix, and yet it is much easier to use, so you can switch to the next generation without stress. It's a complete system that is easy to understand why people say, "It's packed with everything we wanted to do with Helix."
  • Gear enthusiasts interested in the latest digital equipment
While covering all the functions that are common to popular models such as Neural DSP and Fractal, Helix Stadium also has the usability and flexibility that only Line 6 can offer. It is a product that we would recommend to anyone considering a product from another company. For example, compared to the Quad Cortex, it has a larger touch screen and better live performance features, and it also has a modern UI and cloud connectivity that Kemper does not have, making it a very attractive product with many features."It's fun to use."The interface will inspire your creativity.

Finally, further information is planned for the Helix Stadium series ahead of its release in the second half of 2025. There are some details that have not been revealed at this time (specific DSP performance figures, future rack/compact versions, Helix Native update plans, etc.), but these will be officially announced at a later date. Information is being actively exchanged on Line 6 Japan's announcements and user forums, so if you're interested, check them out.

Helix Stadium XL Floor and Floor - whichever you choose, you can be sure that you will get an unprecedentedly fulfilling tone experience. This new product, which is sent out as the culmination of the 10th anniversary of the Helix series, is sure to be a topic of conversation with fellow guitarists while waiting for the release date.
