Laney LOUDPEDAL|Features and Functions
Large equipment, compact size
LOUDPEDAL is more than just a great tube tone emulator - it's a complete rig solution built into the Laney Pedalboard amp.
"The way I use the LOUDPEDAL varies greatly depending on the type of gig or type of session I'm playing, and that's one of the great things about it," Martin enthuses.
"The DI out is perfect for recording directly in a hotel room, on tour, in the studio, at a recording session, or anywhere else. You can also incorporate pedals into the effects loop of a multi-effects unit, or vice versa. You can also incorporate a multi-effects unit into the effects loop of the LOUDPEDAL and enjoy the effects through the cabinet simulation. I use it depending on the situation."
"I put the LOUDPEDAL in the effects loop of a multi-effects unit and vice versa. I use the 4-cable method when I want maximum flexibility. It also sounds great plugged into a DI out or directly into a loudspeaker - no need for a massive setup."
Two footswitchable channels and versatile voicings
LOUDPEDAL Laney Pedalboard amps offer two fully independent, footswitchable channels with powerful EQ controls that allow you to dramatically change your tone. With the flip of a switch, you can go from clear clean tones to gritty overdrive. Additionally, LIONHEART-LOUDPEDAL offers three different voicing modes (Bright, Dark, Flat) on each channel to change the character and feel of your tone. Meanwhile, IRONHEART-LOUDPEDAL's Channel 2 allows you to adjust the gain response from clean to asymmetrical or symmetrical clipping. Channel 3 has three different voicing modes (Bright, Dark, Flat).
Built-in preamp boost
This pedal features a built-in preamp boost inspired by the Black Country Customs Steel Park circuit, one of Tom Quayle's favorite boost pedals. When the boost is enabled, it can push the front end of LOUDPEDAL Laney Pedalboard amps into overdrive and saturation. "When I first saw this, I was really surprised by how beautiful it looks. It feels great to hold and looks really cool. And I was also very happy that it has the color of the LIONHEART amps," said Tom.
Authentic spring reverb
In addition to shaping the core amp tone, LOUDPEDALs offers a digital reverb based on the Black Country Customs Secret Path spring algorithm.
LANEY ADVANCED IMPULSE RESPONSIVE (LAIR) TECHNOLOGY
Made in the UK, LOUDPEDAL Laney Pedalboard amps come preloaded with two impulse responses captured from Tom and Martin's cabinets of choice, plus it's possible to load third-party IR files into the pedal via the companion "LAIR" software application.
"The USB-C out provides zero-latency audio output plus access to the LOUDPEDAL-LAIR app," explains Laney product manager Simon Fraser-Clark. "The app gives you ultimate control over the impulse responses in the amp, allowing you to switch between Tom's and your own or change the EQ of the preloaded impulse responses. Being able to save your own cabinet IRs in a pedal-based amp is a game changer for recording guitar tones."
"The independent EQ feature is really cool. The LAIR technology allows you to store two IRs on the device. Plus, you can have a completely independent parametric EQ for each IR. This allows you to tame the treble content of a particular IR, allowing you to tailor the sound to a specific venue or recording scenario."
Silent Practice Partners
While LOUDPEDAL excels as an amplification solution for the stage or in the studio, it also doubles as a very useful practice tool: the pedal features an AUX input that lets you jam along with music from your mobile device or audio player, and a headphone jack to ensure a completely silent practice session.
Compact and truly pedalboard friendly design
LOUDPEDAL Laney Pedalboard amps are packed with professional features and technology. What Tom Quayle particularly loves is their ultra-compact size. "My favorite feature is the size, it's easy to take anywhere in the world. The DI out with IR is great, it's really great to be able to get the LIONHEART sound anywhere," explains Tom.
Comprehensive I/O and MIDI Capabilities
Despite their size, LOUDPEDAL Laney Pedalboard amps offer a full range of routing options comparable to a full-sized amplifier. In addition to an AUX IN, headphone jack, and USB-C recording output, they offer:
- Balanced XLR direct output to feed front of house mix
- High quality effects loop for connecting stomp boxes
- Full MIDI functionality for integration with modern rigs
Whether you're performing live, in the studio, doing a bedroom session or maintaining complete silence on stage, LOUDPEDAL gives you all the connectivity you need.
Handmade in the UK
Perhaps most importantly, Martin Miller IRONHEART and Tom Quayle LIONHEART LOUDPEDALs are handcrafted in the UK, which ensures quality control and attention to detail. Tom says:
"What was really important to me was that this is part of Laney's Black Country Customs series, so it's made in the UK - it says 'Hand-crafted in the UK' on the back. It's a mark of quality and makes me proud as a UK guitar player. The product is extremely well made and the design is fantastic."

Laney LOUDPEDAL|Comments from Martin Miller & Tom Quayl
Martin Miller"I've been using Laney amps for a long time. I bought my first one with my first paycheck when I was 18. I love the thick, creamy, compressed distortion that's sharp yet warm, thick yet transparent. To me, it's one of the best gain structures for the high gain metal style. I can't think of a better distortion for my style of guitar playing."
Tom Quayl"If you were to compare the original amp with this pedal in a blind test, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference at all. That may sound like an exaggeration, but it really is that close to the original. I'm very familiar with the original amp from playing it for years, so I was blown away by how well it replicated it."
