Overwhelming dynamic range, sparkling overtones, long sustain, a fat tone with a fast sound, and most importantly, a clean drive sound. In order to realize all of these, we thoroughly examined all elements related to the sound, such as the electric circuit and electric parts, as well as the material, mass, and magnetic field of the case and knob, and after repeated prototyping over several years, we completed the "STRING SLINGER" and "FIRE MIST". When we think of the ideal drive sound, two things come to mind: the American blues sound symbolized by the Black Face era, and the British rock sound represented by golden plexi panels.
"FIRE MIST" reproduces the ideal British rock sound. Its outstanding response and edgy sound create the classic British rock sound.
The moment you play "FIRE MIST" you will experience the true meaning of the word "amp like."
- NEW HTS(Holistic Tonal Solution) circuit
The "Integrated Series" is equipped with a newly designed HTS (Holistic Tonal Solution) circuit. Unlike conventional buffer circuits, this circuit maximizes the sound characteristics of the guitar and amplifier while converting impedance, achieving both good sound and low noise. - FREE THE TONE Custom Knobs
We developed a custom FREE THE TONE knob made of machined brass to suppress vibrations in the shafts and wipers of the semi-fixed resistors used in each control, and to suppress harmonic components that adversely affect the sound. We repeated sound tests to determine the diameter and weight of the knob in order to obtain the ideal sound. It produces a clean overdrive that is "distorted but not muddy" with little turbidity. - Sound Casing Design
The length, width, height, and thickness of the case all affect the sound of the overdrive. For the "Integrated Series", we calculate all dimensions to determine the case size that is best suited to the ideal sound. The weight is also designed to be appropriate for the sound. - IC Tone Plate
This is a FREE THE TONE original metal plate that covers the top of the IC, providing vibration isolation and shielding at the same time. It provides shielding to make the most of the IC's characteristics while minimizing the introduction of noise. - Passive Tone Circuit
The tone circuit uses a passive circuit that minimizes phase shift of the guitar signal.

I haven't bought any effects recently, but this is an amp-like gem that can add distortion to the same level as a distortion pedal. It's very similar to the OT-DRIVE, but this one distorts better, so I can rely on it.
I bought the VEMURAM Jan Ray because I saw it, but it was a really good low gain OD. I put the Jan Ray in front of the Free the Tone Firemist and the OD was really good!
