Starting with the Landgraff Dynamic Overdrive, which was all the rage in the 2000s, many overdrive pedals with modified TS circuits, known as the "TS series", have been produced. Over the past 20 years, dozens, even hundreds, of TS series overdrive pedals have been released, and it seemed that all the ideas for modification had been exhausted.
However, while following these traditions, we reconstructed an entirely new circuit configuration based on the TS template, and thoroughly researched the TS circuit to overcome the weaknesses common to many TS-type ODs.
The concept this time is,
"Removes excessive compression and improves response"
"Significantly improved volume and gain, from clean to high gain"
"It maintains the characteristic midrange of the TS while increasing the high and low frequencies."
I was particularly conscious of these three points when I made this product.
Aggressive Over Drive is an overdrive equipped with two different high-speed op-amps. Because it does not go through a FET-derived buffer circuit, it improves response while removing the feeling of compression and increases the range of volume and gain movement.
We have also reviewed the component constants to overcome TS's biggest weakness, which is that it cuts high and low frequencies in order to emphasize the midrange.
The characteristic midrange characteristics remain intact, while the range has been further enhanced. Because the range is so wide, it is difficult to reproduce the range with a general-purpose op-amp, and above all, the performance of a high-speed op-amp is essential to output the original sound faithfully and directly. Combined with the combination of the high-speed op-amps "AD712" and "LT1364" installed, the resolution has been greatly improved.
- Level
It has an amplification rate of up to 10 times more than when bypassed, making it ideal as a booster. - Drive
The 10 o'clock position is the maximum gain of a typical TS overdrive, and when you turn it further you can enjoy a high gain sound that is comparable to distortion. With the Drive at 0, it is completely clean, and can also be used as a high-quality preamplifier with the buffer circuit of the op amp "LT1364". - Tone
This pedal employs a tone circuit that is perhaps the most distinctive feature of the TS series. Turning it clockwise cuts the low frequencies and boosts the high frequencies, increasing the volume and gain. Turning it counterclockwise cuts the high frequencies and decreases the volume and gain.
