Grand Orbiter is a 4-stage OTA based phaser that can go from quiet and gentle to fast and swirling.
You can select three types of modulation with the toggle switch. Rate 1 is a slow movement, and Rate 2 disables the LFO and fixes the resonant filter. Rate 3 is a fast movement. The LFO speed can be adjusted with the Rate knob, and the speed of the LED blinking on the unit allows you to visually check the LFO speed. The LED continues to blink even when the effect is off.
Depth adjusts the mix of the original sound and the effect sound. Sweep adjusts the frequency peak. Turning it to the left will cut the high frequencies for a smoother tone, and turning it to the right will boost the high frequencies for a more pronounced tone. Resonance adjusts the feedback of the phase signal. It has a wide range of adjustment, so it can be applied quite deeply. The Grand Orbiter can also be used as a Vibrato (with the Phase/Vibrato switch). In that case, the original sound is not output. Depth adjusts the volume.

EarthQuaker Devices Grand Orbiter|Control

- Sweep – Sets the frequency peak, turn left for a lower frequency and turn right for a higher frequency.
- Rate 1/2/3 - Choose from 1 speed ranges. Rate 2 is slow, Rate 3 disables the LFO and becomes a fixed resonant filter. Rate XNUMX is fast.
- Rate – Sets the speed of the LFO. Turn left for slower and right for faster.
- Depth – Sets the mix of the original and effected sounds. Turn left for less phaser, turn right for more phaser. In Vibrato mode, this also acts as a volume.
- Phase/Vibrato - Depending on the settings, the original sound will be cut off in Vibrato mode, and it can be used like a vibrato effect. In that case, set the Resonance low.
- Resonance – Sets the amount of feedback. Turn it to the right to get deeper.

EarthQuaker Devices Grand Orbiter | Reviews and Reputation
This phaser is really amazing. I have an EVH phaser as well, I like the gear, and the real difference is that the EVH phaser is very subtle, whereas the Grand Orbiter, as the name suggests, can sweep over a wide area. I prefer a slow phaser sound, and the dramatic sonic changes you can create with this Grand Orbiter are amazing. In short, I like the Grand Orbiter for riffs, and I use the EVH for solos, because the Grand Orbiter is more dramatic, so a slow, subtle phaser like the EVH doesn't always come through, especially when playing loud live with other guitarists. But the slow, dramatic Grand Orbiter does. I also love that I can step in and hold it to use for pick slides, dive bombs, squeals, etc.

The Grand Orbiter is great for adding very subtle movement to your playing without it being obvious that you're using a phaser pedal. You can tweak it to be more noticeable and it still remains tasteful. I knew this would be a favorite right away. I'm so excited to have finally found a phaser pedal that works for me. It certainly covers the traditional phaser territory, but it can produce crazy sounds or it can be subtle and tasteful and unobtrusive while still adding dimension to your guitar.
